Save the Children approached our team with this brief: to come up with a new approach for their DRTV campaigns and help them stand out in a noisy and crowded space. Our solution was to develop a concept that focussed on empowering the children to tell their own stories – placing them in a position of strength in the eyes of the audience, rather than as powerless victims.

For the first time in Save’s DRTV history, the young protagonist (Leolida) told his story in his own voice – using a narrator only to translate alongside in English. The campaign was extremely successful and ran for several months longer than planned. With a universally relatable story, of a child determined to protect their younger sibling, it was able to be translated and broadcast in multiple territories.

We produced hero content for DRTV and digital-first edits for social channels – focussing on different elements of Leolida & Lawrence’s story – alongside social and digital ads.
