This powerful film follows two young sisters, Marianne and Lilly, as they each bravely tell the story of their mother’s death and the part they played in her last days.
The film deals with the hugely sensitive topic of assisted dying and, after reading the insight in Dignity in Dying’s new report, it was clear that the sisters should be given the opportunity to tell this story, in their own words, without holding back on the raw truth of their experience. The contrast of Marianne – calm and measured – and Lilly – angry and emotional in the face of injustice – goes some way to illustrating the depth and complexity of this subject.
Their story is one of a series of case studies we filmed for the client, highlighting the experiences of people impacted by the current UK legislation which criminalises assisted dying. You can explore another film in the series, Christie’s Story, and the Dignity in Dying narrative/brand film is here.
