Year: 2009

A blend of film and animation to illustrate the epic story of Tam o’ Shanter, the anti-hero of one of Robert Burns’ most famous poems, with narration provided by the actor Brian Cox. Part of a series of films and interactive displays produced for the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway, Scotland.

I also produced and directed The Doll’s House – a 4 screen video depicting a day in the life of Robert Burns for the Burns Cottage. The museum won the award for Best Permanent Exhibition at the Museums and Heritage Awards.

The exhibition was designed to engage a contemporary audience with the very relevant subject matter of Burns’ work – exploring issues from economic inequality to environmental destruction. The full project contents can be found on the Spiral website.
