Many of the world’s worst environmental and human rights abuses are driven by the exploitation of natural resources and corruption in the global political and economic system. Global Witness is campaigning to end this. They carry out hard-hitting investigations, expose these abuses, and campaign for change. They are independent, not-for-profit, and work with partners around the world in their fight for justice.
Charmian Gooch, their co-founder, was the 2014 TED Prize winner. In October 2014 Charmian unveiled the Great Ripoff Map during her TED Global talk and used this film to show the real, everyday, impact of corruption. You can find out more at the TED blog
